For meeting on June 17th

The inevitable is that we all will age.. Hello, my name's Tim, and i have a dream, my dream is to make Edmonton and area more wheel accessible for all, everyone from parents pushing baby strollers, to people using walking devices or people like me in wheelchairs. I have created a wheel accessibility team call Mightywheels.ca to work with are beautiful city to build or upgrade more accessible areas, i have filmed many public washrooms and posted them on my blog, hoping the right person will see them. Because I read that Canada Health Says by the time a typical Canadian reaches 85 years old, 6-10 of us will have mobility issues or have to use a wheelchair. And Edmonton’s City intersections, sidewalks, and sidewalk ramps are not in the best of conditions. I do not want to be confined indoor so lets, think in every ones interests and check out my blog for ideas to work with the inevitable.

Wheel Accessibility Meeting.

We are going to have a meeting with the various city of Edmonton employees you have connected with over the past while, just so that we can all be in the same room, and work more collaboratively together. It will be at 11am like you requested on June 17th. at the Callingwood Lois Hole Library.

Injured.

I’m still suffering from my back and shoulder old injuries that still are haunting me.

Last Saturday a friend of mine fell,

She had fallen into a hole and twisted her right knee and broke her left hand and ended up in hospital medicated and on crutches, then a cast 2 days later because when she went to her doctor and i got a second appion and she found a break in her hand that the hospital missed and now its in a cast.
She had gone to the hotel where she was staying and they said that it was the city that owns that part of that property but is passing the buck on who owns the property. Here are some pictures of where i had fallen.

Time to change.

We should get them to change the signs here too. I hate the word "handicapped" I'm NOT handicapped but I use a wheelchair. The wheelchair doesn't make me disabled, the attitude around it does. IT'S TIME TO CHANGE!!!!

City Map Idea.

I would like to create a city map showing Edmonton's wheel accessible areas and showing the best route for a person who uses wheels to get from point A to point B.This would be my dream.

Could this be true?

We are not equal people, people who use wheels must work so much harder then so called normal people to give the allusion of being the same, People are people, everyone is different. What do you think?

An email regarding May 4th.

Hi Tim,

While that may indeed be the case I think they probably don't even know what issues they have and are merely afraid that if someone like you comes along and points out a bunch of issues that you are just going to cost them money!

That's generally been my experience over these many years...

May 4th.

2-6 I plan to wheel over to Callingwood farmers market and hopefully I’ll find a friend over there to help me film an evaluation on Safeway’s washroom.
The Red tape run around.. out of every place I’ve evaluated, Safeway has said “No” I wonder do they something to hide.
