Accessibility for you and me..

The mission of Mightywheels is to help everyone who uses non-motorized wheels, with the exception of handy-capped motorized scooters.
When I first started using my wheels, I noticed many poor surfaces areas and wanted to create an internet blog to help let other people who use wheels know about them. This can be anyone from parents pushing baby strollers, the elderly with their walking devices, or people like me in wheelchairs.
I went back to school to learn how to create a team of people that could help, called Mightywheels. The team objective is to bring attention to the things the people who use wheels feel isn't right. Some examples are poor surfaces areas in city intersections, poor city sidewalks, sidewalk ramps, non-accessible places of business, and other problems people who use wheels face everyday.
If you don't use wheels, you may have not noticed that the last business you entered may have not had a button to open the door for you. You probably opened the door yourself and didn't even notice. Someone who uses wheels can struggle to enter this business independently.
It's Mightwheels' mission to work with a business to try and find ways to make them more wheel friendly for all, that way all customers will be able to access them easier and all businesses want more customers.
We want equal accessibility, so we can all access our great city! Become part of this great project and let's make Edmonton an even more progressive city than it already is!
