Mightywheels

Mightywheels will come and assess your business space to see how
accessible it really is for free.

We are a group of wheeled and non-wheeled members that are not happy with the streets, sidewalks, intersections and business owners who fail to comply with building regulated codes.

Our Mightywheels mission, is to improve the wheeling surfaces in Edmonton and surrounding areas, due to the harsh and long winters we experience. Each spring time, after all the snow has melted, many sidewalks and sidewalk ramps become filled with cracks and potholes that create uneven surfaces. Very little is done to fix the problem, unless the right pressure is applied to property owners and city planners to actually do something about it.

But we as a team wholeheartedly believe in “The right to equal accessibility and mobility.” This is because everyone from families who push baby strollers, to the elderly, who use wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers, need to have access to safe and reliable pathways to get to where their need to go. Therefore, this is why I wish to dedicate my time to advocating for better surface areas. Thus I began my blogging website.

What I have found during this spring construction phase is that many of the accessible sidewalks, ramps, intersections, and building entrances are blocked and people must take alternate but longer routes, which is very strenuous for people with mobility issues. It is also why I speak up for people with mobility issues. With enough pressure and publicity, we can aim to make the public more aware of these types of inconveniences, blocked roads can have on accessibility. If you wish to join our group, or share your own personal experience, then come and join the  Mightywheels Group, and let's work together to make Edmonton a safer and more accessible place.

I want to work with the government to make equal accessibility for us all.

Would like The City of Edmonton home page to post my poor surface area warnings on their page.  to do that I would  like to  get the powerchair I ordered form echo medical sooner.
